Effects of isospin mixing in the A = 32 quintet

چکیده
For the A = 32, T = 2 quintet we provide a unified theoretical description for three related aspects of isospin mixing: the necessity of more than three terms in the isobaric mass multiplet equation, isospin-forbidden proton decay in 32Cl, and a correction to the allowed Fermi β+ decay of 32Ar. We demonstrate that all three effects observed in experiment can be traced to a common origin related to isospin mixing of the T = 2 states with T = 1 states.

Nolen-Schiffer Anomaly in mirror nuclei due to the NN interactions with isospin mixing between T=0 and T=1 mesons of the same spin and parity are investigated. With the computation of coulomb energy along with the charge symmetry breaking (CSB) effects provide a reasonably accurate description of binding energy differences between 39ca- 39k- , 41cs- 41ca mirror nuclei.

Typically cubic and quartic terms (dT 3 Z + eT 4 Z ) are added to the IMME to provide a measure of any deviation from the quadratic form associated with isospin symmetry. In general, the quadratic form (d = 0 and e = 0) provides a good description of isospin quartets and quintets for A < 40 where the appropriate experimental masses are known [1]. The success of IMME has lead people to use it to...

Meson is composed of one quark and one antiquark moving under the effect of confinement, oscillating and color potentials. Since quarks are particles with spin , there is a spin-spin interaction potential. Also we have isospins for u and d quarks and we can consider related potentials on isospin-isospin and spin-isospin effects. By comparing the given meson spectrum with the amount calculated...
متن کاملAN OBVIOUS ISOSPIN BREAKING CORRECTION TO ǫ′ OF KINEMATICAL ORIGIN
Isospin breaking correction to the ∆I = 12 decay of K → ππ generates a large enough contribution to ǫ through an induced ∆I = 32 amplitude in KL decay. Aside from the π-η and π-η ′ mixing contributions, there is a correction of kinematical origin due to the final-state π±-π0 mass difference, which is unambiguously calculable from the low-energy off-shell behavior of the K → ππ amplitude. This c...
متن کامل- η , η ′ Mixing in B → ππ
An isospin analysis of B → ππ decays yields sin 2α, where α ≡ arg[−VtdV ∗ tb/(VudV ∗ ub)] and Vij is a CKM matrix element, without hadronic uncertainty if isospin is a perfect symmetry. Isospin, however, is broken not only by electroweak effects but also by the u and d quark mass difference. The latter drives π − η, η mixing and converts the isospin-perfect triangle relation between the B → ππ ...
